ROSS, Robert C. - Of Flint, age 85, died
Thursday, September 9, 2004 at
Hospice of Lansing. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:30PM Monday,
September 13, 2004 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley
Street
in Flint, Father Douglas Osborn officiating. Burial in New Calvary
Catholic
Cemetery with a military graveside service under the auspices of VFW
Post
#822 Honor Guard. Those desiring may make contributions to Inventors
Council
of Mid-Michigan, E. Richard Favone, Treasurer, 12085 Mantawauka, Fenton,
MI
48430. Visitation 5-8PM Saturday and 4-8PM Sunday at the Swartz Funeral
Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A prayer service will be held at 6PM Sunday
evening at the funeral home. Mr. Ross will be at the church from 11:30AM
Monday until the time of the Mass. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on
May
29, 1919. Mr. Ross served his country in the U.S. Army during World War
II.
He was an avid Tigers fan, loved helping entrepreneurs and mentoring
inventors. He loved being with his family. Surviving are children,
Robert F.
Ross of Florida, Mary J. and husband John Wisbach of Massachusetts, Paul
M.
and wife Sally Ross of Bath, Michigan, Thomas M. and wife Patti Ross of
California, Christopher J. and wife Cindy Ross of Ohio, Margaret M. and
husband Matthew Vergith of Brighton, Michael A. and wife Carmen Ross of
Clarkston; grandchildren, Joseph, Joanna, Julie, John Ross, Alison,
Leigh,
Angela, Alison, Kristin, Sarah, Rachal, Katie, Michael, Anna, Claire,
Thomas, Maria, Julia and Paul; brother, Richard and wife Maxine Ross of
Detroit; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by
his
loving wife, Julia, in 1999; parents and sister, Helen Murray.
