Many inventors chose to either manufacture their product or to subcontract the manufacture of product and sell the product themselves rather than license the idea to industry. In many cases this is the only way they can get industry's attention to license the product.

One good way to identify potential manufacturers is to read trade magazines. For links to many trade magazines see www.InventorEd.org/trade/.

Yet another way to identify suitable manufacturers is to attend a trade show. While many trade shows are national, i.e., only one per year at one location which may be far away from where the inventor lives, we are fortunate that the American Contract Manufacturers show is held a numerous locations throughout the year. See www.amconshows.com for a schedule.
