Subject: Re: INVENTION SCAMS
Regarding using TV expose' shows to expose the
scams: I wrote a letter
to the editor of our regional paper about the I(nventor)
S(crewing)
C(orporation) scam being promoted on cable TV. The editor
wrote me back
a polite note refusing to publish my letter because it criticized
another media.
I have written tens of letters in the past few years, and this is
the
only one not published. Whether there is an unwritten
comity among the
media, or my particular paper is afraid of a law suit I have no
way of
knowing.
My point is that TV muckrakers may suffer the same kind of
restraint.
Maybe blasting advertisers, especially on the same network, is
never
permitted by the network management.
Definitions: Screw: to practice extortion on; cheat;
swindle. (6th
definition in Webster's New World Dictionary, 2nd edition.
Comity: a
politeness or unspoken agreement among various institutions to
not
openly critisize or testify against each other.

To some extent, sure. But when a flimflam salesman says to
you that
your invention is extrordinary - - "Once in a lifetime do we
ever see an
invention with the potential of your, ah, your, ah, (what was it
again
that you invented)?" - - those inventors who want to
believe, will
believe.
