For the past few months, I have been banding together other inventors
who have been scammed out of their money by
Invent-Tech. we have made
formal request to them as a group, asking for our monies back, or we
would report them to the BBB, FTC & attorney generals office, state
of
Florida. their attorney, Leslie Hecker, sent us a release if I would
stop talking about Invent-Tech. in that agreement, if I so much as
breathed, they wanted 50,000 in damages from my partner & me. we
would
not sign it. Today I was served papers from the sheriff. Invent Tech is
now suing me & my partner for 100,000 each. I am in contact with a
school teacher in Louisiana who is being sued also for 100,000 also for
reporting them to the BBB & FTC. defending ourselves is going to be
very
costly. If you happen to know of any other inventors who have had
problems, or could give us some advice, it would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely
Tom Jellema/Tom O'dea

Subject: Invent-Tech vs. Tyler Court Case in Florida
Mr. Riley:
I thought I would share with you the outcome of
Invent-Tech's case
against me in Dade County, Florida. My name is Rhonda Tyler, Mr.
Tom
Jellema spoke to you last week about the case against me, and I just
heard from my lawyer in Florida. Judge Bailey was more concerned
about
Ms. Leslie Heckler filing a suit against me because I asked the BBB of
Miami to check on my complaint against
Invent-Tech. On Friday,
February
8, Invent-Tech, by way of Ms. Heckler, dropped the "breech of
contract"
part of the law suit. Reason why was because my contract was over
with
them prior to my complaint being filed. The judge, according to my
lawyer, has her court in order and perhaps a ruling won't be too far off
in the distance future. I certainly hope not. I am ready for
this
nightmare to end. Also, I just emailed my attorney in Florida and
asked
him if Judge Bailey seem concerned with me threatening to put my
negative
comments on a web site about my dealings with
Invent-Tech. (I just
wonder where my 1st Amendment rights end these days. As long as I
am
speaking the truth, is this not my right?) I am waiting to hear
from him
on that one.
Mr. Tom Jellema said you thought I was a plant from
Invent-Tech.
I can
rest assure you I am not. Matter of fact, I am dedicated at doing
what I
can, and it is costing me the mortgage on my home, to PUT THEM OUT OF
BUSINESS FOR THEIR UNETHICAL AND DECEITFUL PRACTICES. Anything
your
organization can do to help me or Mr. Jellema would be greatly
appreciated. WE HAVE GOT TO STOP THIS FROM HAPPENING TO ANYONE
ELSE.
I am willing to send you whatever you need in order of you to help us
put
them out of business and hold them accountable for these costly and
frivolous law suits. Please feel free to call me if you need any
information.
Sincerely,
Rhonda McNeal Tyler

Most all inventor activists are threatened by invention promoters.
They
often try to trick us into saying something which might be actionable,
an
attempt to create an excuse to sue us. When you contacted Mr.
Lougher he
let me know about the contact. He sent you a reply, but then did
not hear
back from you. At that point we thought you were another invention
promoter
stooge.
Invent-Tech is the first invention promoter I have seen use SLAPP
www.InventorEd.org/SLAPP/
suits to try and silence clients. This is a
really stupid tactic.
Two other firms have used litigation to silence inventor activists, ISC
www.InventorEd.org/caution/isc/
and Advent
www.InventorEd.org/caution/advent/.
You are protected by the First Amendment, and may speak the truth.
But it
is up to a court to decide if you have spoken the truth. Still,
the web is
a great equalizer. It is a great support tool when used in
conjunction with
a media campaign.
Send Bob Lougher and I the documents about the case. Where
possible send
them in electronic form in addition to hard copy. This will
facilitate
posting the material to the web. I will create an
Invent-Tech
section on
the www.InventorEd.org/caution/
pages at
www.InventorEd.org/caution/invent-tech/
.
