We are listing resources
about RICO because we believe that the way invention promoters operate is actionable under
RICO statutes. In fact, NIFC brought a RICO action
against Invention Submission Corporation
and numerous other companies and individuals who play a role in the
invention promotion business but ran out of money,
settling the case (It was dismissed as part of the
settlement). In addition, there is
considerable circumstantial evidence that there has been
collusion among companies to avoid paying inventors
royalties and that if such collusion is occurring it may
make them subject to RICO actions.

Lemelson,
American Inventor White Knight
Vs Mitsubishi
This case
was interesting because Mitsubishi claimed that MR.
Lemelson's enforcement of his patent rights was
actionable under RICO statutes. Mr. Lemelson prevailed
over Mitsubishi's RICO argument and the case was settled,
but the attorney who represented Mitsubishi had to offer
a retraction for libelous comments.
